Entry-Level Equipment Maintenance Technician / Truck Driver (Full Time)

Summary:
Hinkel Equipment Rentals seeks an entry-level equipment maintenance technician / truck driver. This role will utilize and continue to develop skills in: hydraulic equipment repair; diesel engine maintenance; aerial lift operation, maintenance, and repair; equipment delivery; and end-user familiarization. Hours: This job offers steady hours -- 7 am - 3:30 pm, M-F -- with overtime and travel opportunity.
Qualified candidates will have:
Entry-level knowledge and skills required to correctly test, diagnose, replace, repair and adjust as necessary the components of the mechanical, electronic, air, and hydraulic systems
Ability to pass a road test, DOT physical exam, and a drug screen initially, and be able to pass drug screenings randomly throughout employment
Clean driving record -- Meet D.O.T requirements
A sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
Ability to demonstrate cognitive ability to:
follow directions, routines, and safety procedures
read, write, and comprehend numbers and decimal number systems
High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired
Applicants must have ability to meet the physical demands of this role which requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job. Applicants must also have comfort with heights.
Qualified Candidates will have a willingness to:
Obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
Learn to comfortably operate equipment up to 100ft+ in the air
Wear required personal protective equipment
Travel by both truck and air – including occasional overnight stays
Acquire Basic Tools for the job
Develop a customer-service-focused attitude and learn to provide safety training to customers

Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer
Strong mechanical skills, familiar with air and hydraulic systems
Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one within 45 days of employment
Ability to meet D.O.T requirements and be CDL qualified as required by job assignment
Comfort with heights. Willingness to learn to operate equipment up to 200 ft in the air.

Ability to operate standard transmission, or willingness to learn
WIllingness to follow requirements to wear personal protective equipment
Ability to work in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather
