Hinkel Equipment Rental Associates, INC – a specialty utility equipment rental company located in the greater Philadelphia area, is seeking a full-time truck and equipment mechanic with interest in equipment delivery and customer training.
Job description Summary:
This position involves hydraulic equipment repair, diesel engine repair, using the equipment, delivering the equipment to customers and training customers in the use of the equipment. This job offers steady hours with overtime and travel opportunity. Qualified candidates will have:
Knowledge and experience with diesel engine repair
Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computer
Strong mechanical skills, familiar with air and hydraulic systems
Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one within 45 days of employment
Ability to meet D.O.T requirements and be CDL qualified as required by job assignment
Comfort with heights. Willingness to learn to operate equipment up to 200 ft in the air.
Ability to work Independently
Own set of basic tools
Ability to operate standard transmission, or willingness to learn
WIllingness to follow requirements to wear personal protective equipment
Ability to work in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather
A sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
Ability to demonstrate cognitive ability to:
follow directions and routines, work independently with appropriate judgment,
exhibit spatial awareness,
read, write and comprehend numbers and decimal number systems,
concentrate, memorize, and recall,
identify logical connections and determine sequence of response, processing up to 2-3 steps ahead.
Other functions that may be assigned
Ability to pass a road test, DOT physical exam and a drug screen initially and be able to pass drug screenings randomly throughout employment.
Willingness to travel by both truck and air – including occasional overnight stays
Customer service focused attitude
Ability to meet the physical demands of this role which requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.
High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired.
Willingness to grow skills for customer interfacing and customer training in safe equipment use.
